UN comes next for sovereign Kosovo
Remarking on Kosovo’s new full sovereignty after International Steering Group’s have completed their supervision of the transition since the 2008 declaration of independence from Serbia, Kosovo’s Minister of Interior Affairs Bajram Rexhepi stated, “We want to see a fully independent Kosovo in the UN. The Republic of Kosovo is now an independent and sovereign state.”
TURKEY IS AN IMPORTANT PARTNER
Expressing that from here on out, Kosovo will be taking on further responsibility; Interior Minister Rexhepi said that will also come with problems, the most important of which involves the organized crime and corruption in the north. Rexhepi went on to emphasize the importance of collaboration with Turkey as the Kosovo minister stated, "With the agreement signed on Tuesday taxation has now been lifted between the two nations. Soon we will be signing a Free Trade Agreement. Turkey is one of our most important partners."
