Angel of goodwill comes to Hatay

U.N. Goodwill Ambassador Angelina Jolie is in Hatay to visit the camps when Syrian refugees are seeking shelter in Turkey.

Angelina Jolie arrived to the Hatay Airport yesterday by private plane at 15:25. Jolie, who along with being an Oscar-award winning actress, is also a U.N. Goodwill Ambassador was greeted in Hatay by Deputy Governor Orhan Mardinli.
Intensive security measures were in place due to the famous star's arrival. Security forces prevented the throngs of fans that came out to greet Jolie from coming close to her. Prior to the famous star's plane landing, another private plane, carrying her team landed first. Also amongst the stars' convoy was a minibus that was filled with toys brought in by the airplane. The Hatay Governorship provided the star with a Department of National Education minibus. After the star's three suitcases were unloaded from the plan, Jolie went on to meet with approximately 1,400 refugees that had been invited by the Red Crescent. A sign welcoming the 'World's Goodwill Angel' was hung at the entrance of the Tekel factory which is operating as one of the refugee camps. After Jolie paid her visit, she returned to the Hatay Airport and departed 45 minutes later.
