Libyan government forces are already implementing a cease-fire, a government spokesman told Reuters, adding no military offensive had been launched on Friday.
"Libya has already implemented the cease-fire," Mussa Ibrahim said. "We have not carried out any military operations today on Misrata or anywhere else in the country."
He said that Tripoli wanted Turkish and Maltese authorities to "supervise and help implement the cease-fire."
"We don't know who to reach at the (U.N.) Security Council to work out the technicalities of the cease-fire. That is the problem at the moment which we are trying to resolve," he said.
