A fire in the top floor of a four-story building in Germany’s Wuppertal town resulted in the deaths of three Turkish nationals.
Hatice Gür (23) and her daughters Elif (2) and Esra Gür (5) all died in the fire. Eyüp Gür who was in critical condition, was taken by helicopter to a hospital in Dortmund.
According to Wuppertal police, the fire erupted in the early morning hours and despite firefighters swiftly arriving to the scene, the mother and her two daughters were unable to be saved. Turkey's Düsseldorf Consulate General Fırat Sunel states that the fire was not a result of arson. The deceased, which were taken to the Forensics Department, will be transported to Kütahya within a few days time.
