Two senior PKK terrorists killed in southeastern Turkey

Two senior PKK terrorists, who were the group's regional leaders, have been killed during an aerial operation on a cave in Şırnak province's Mount Judi.Meanwhile in Şırnak's Silopi district, a call center of the PKK was captured along with equipment that was planned to be used in terrorist attacks. The counterterrorism operation was carried out over a four-month period, during which the center was monitored by gendarmerie forces. As a result, 20,000 Korek lines that were used in the Iraq region, eight signal transmitter modems, eight batteries and a large number of communication cables were confiscated. Security sources reported that this is the first time that such a system has been captured in Turkey while PKK terrorists said they used the center for communication purposes. Two suspects were detained regarding the issue. The confiscated equipment, on the other hand, was sent to the capital Ankara for investigation.

The PKK – listed as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the U.S., and the EU – resumed its armed campaign in July 2015 after a brief reconciliation period.

Since then, the terrorist group has been responsible for the deaths of some 1,200 security personnel and civilians, including women and children, while more than 4,000 security personnel and over 2,000 civilians have been injured.
