Three Daesh suspects arrested in Antalya province

Three Daesh suspects were arrested in southern Antalya province Tuesday.

Antalya's counterterror police department recently carried out an operation against Daesh-linked cells in the province, detaining five Turkish and two Syrian citizens.

Three of the detainees were arrested yesterday on the grounds that they are members of a terrorist organization and were spreading terror propaganda. The other four suspects were released on the condition of legal control.

Turkey has prevented the entry of 52,000 people with suspected Daesh-links, while 4,000 suspects have been deported to their countries of origin and has arrested over 2,000 Daesh suspects.

Turkey launched Operation Euphrates Shield on Aug. 24 in efforts to clear Daesh terrorists from its borders. The operation is aimed at bolstering border security, supporting coalition forces and eliminating the threat posed by terrorist organizations, especially Daesh.
