41 PKK terrorists killed, 5 attacks foiled last week: Interior ministry


Security forces in Turkey have killed at least 41 terrorists and foiled five terrorist attacks over the course of the last week alone.

According to an Interior Ministry statement on counterterrorism operations across the country between Nov. 15 and Nov. 21, a total of 41 terrorists were killed, 16 of whom were neutralized using armed drones. Meanwhile, five terrorist attacks were also foiled. In the operations, 50 terrorist shelters and warehouses were destroyed and 315 kilograms of explosives and 44 weapons were seized by the security forces. In addition, 45 suspected Daesh militants were also detained, 29 of whom were later arrested.

Selim Aybar was captured in a house in the village of Yılmaz. Aybar allegedly helped the PKK dig ditches and erect barricades.

Upon Aybar's detention, the Turkish Armed Forces (TSK) released a written statement, saying that a notice from the locals played a crucial role in the detention of the terrorist. "Our fight against terrorism and terrorists carried out in cooperation with our people will lead to much better days within a short time," the statement said.
