The Supreme Court of Appeals approved yesterday the 10-month-imprisonment of pro-PKK Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) Co-Chair Figen Yüksekdağ.
Yüksekdağ, who is accused of supporting the PKK terrorist group, was sentenced to 10 months after she attended a funeral ceremony held for a PKK terrorist in southern Adana province.
Charges were pressed against her for allegedly spreading terror propaganda. Yüksekdağ's lawyer, Sevil Aracı Bek, said that the decision has not been delivered to the local court yet. She added that Yüksekdağ could do time for seven and a half months if the local court completes the process.
The rhetoric used by Fiden Yüksekdağ ever since she came to public attention as HDP co-chair before the June 7 elections has become more pro-PKK, overtly aggressive and divisive, openly siding with the terrorist.
