FETÖ poured money into Cumhuriyet daily: Ex-employee
An ex-employee of the Cumhuriyet daily reportedly shared some details in regard to the link between the Gülenist Terror Group (FETÖ) and the newspaper.
According to an article published in the daily Sabah, an ex-employee who wanted to remain anonymous said the newspaper came under the influence of FETÖ since Akın Atalay was appointed as executive board chairman.
The ex-employee contended that the Cumhuriyet daily, which had to endure harsh financial problems, was allegedly revived under Atalay's reign. The ex-employee claimed that the FETÖ-linked Kaynak Holding poured money into Cumhuriyet.
The report said the Financial Crimes Investigation Board (MASAK) launched an investigation into the allegations. It contends that the investigation found there was an unprecedented amount of cash flow into the newspaper.
