The Turkish army, along with the Free Syrian Army (FSA) it supports, have hit 127 Daesh and eight PKK/PYD targets as part of Operation Euphrates Shield in northern Syria on Thursday, the military said on Friday.Eight Syrian opposition fighters were killed and 34 others were wounded during the latest clashes, the statement said.Operation Euphrates Shield was launched in late August to clear Syria's northern border area of terrorists. It is now in its 67th day.The operation targets Daesh and PKK/PYD terrorists and is jointly carried out by the Turkey army and the Turkey-backed FSA.

The PKK and its Syrian offshoot, the PYD, are both listed as terrorist groups by Turkey. The U.S. and EU only view the PKK as a terrorist organization.The FSA have taken the control of around 164 residential districts since the beginning of the operation, the Turkish military said.Meanwhile, two Daesh terrorists were killed and an armed vehicle was destroyed in two airstrikes carried out by U.S.-led coalition forces in Syria's Maaret al-Numan region, the statement added.
