Three PKK terrorists killed in southeast Turkey
Three PKK terrorists were killed Monday in an operation in Turkey's southeastern Siirt province, according to a security source.
The source, who spoke anonymously due to restrictions on talking to the media, said the three terrorists, including two women, were detected by a drone in the Güneşli village of the Merkez district.
Meanwhile, At least 56 PKK terrorists were killed across Turkey between Oct. 10 and yesterday, according to a statement from the Interior Ministry.
The statement said out of the 56 PKK terrorists, 35 were killed during ground operations, including 24 killed, two injured, three captured and surrender of six others in ground operations, while 21 other terrorists were killed by air strikes. The security forces also thwarted PKK's plans to carry out 19 terrorist attacks, including seven bomb vehicles and a suicide bomb attack, the statement added. Anti-terrorist operations continue against terrorists, the statement added.
The PKK - listed as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the U.S. and EU - resumed its decades-old armed campaign in July 2015. Since then, PKK terrorists have killed more than 700 members of security forces and claimed the lives of numerous civilians including women and children while around 10,000 PKK terrorists have been killed or apprehended in army operations.
