A total of 62 Daish terrorists were killed on Thursday, the 52nd day of the Turkish army's joint operation with the Free Syrian Army (FSA) in northern Syria, military sources said Friday.
Two FSA soldiers were fatally shot by Daish terrorists during the operation.
Bomb dismantling experts in the Turkish military safely detonated 116 improvised explosive devices found in areas secured from Daish terrorists.
The military statement also said that every possible precaution is being taken during the operations to protect civilians from being harmed.
No airstrikes were carried out by Turkish jets and coalition forces on the 52nd day, the military statement said.
Yesterday marked the 52nd day of Operation Euphrates Shield, which began on Aug. 24 and aimed at bolstering border security, supporting coalition forces and eliminating the threat posed by terrorist organizations, especially Daish.
The operation is in line with the country's right to self-defense borne out of international treaties and a mandate given to Turkey's armed forces by its Parliament in 2014, which was extended for another year in September 2015.
