Six Daish targets in northern Syria were destroyed Friday as part of Operation Euphrates Shield, the Turkish army said.The Turkish Air Forces carried out airstrikes between 3:58 p.m. and 4:48 p.m. against Daish targets in several areas in northern Syria including Akhtarin, al-Bull and Jakka, and destroyed a command post, a place of gathering, an ammunition storage facility, and three shelters, the Turkish General Staff said in a statement.

Turkey-backed Free Syrian Army (FSA) fighters have established control in 119 residential areas since the beginning of Operation Euphrates Shield.

Turkey launched Operation Euphrates Shield in cooperation with the FSA on Aug. 24 to clear its southern border of Daish terrorists and liberate northern Syrian towns from the terrorist group. In less than a day, the FSA, backed by the Turkish Armed Forces (TSK) liberated Jarablus and continued marching from the east and the west.Turkey's Operation Euphrates Shield, which was launched on Aug. 24, is aimed at bolstering border security, supporting coalition forces, and eliminating the threat posed by terrorist organizations, especially Daish.The operation is in line with the country's right to self-defense borne out of international treaties and a mandate given to Turkey's armed forces by its parliament in 2014, which was extended for another year in September 2015.
