186 PKK terrorists killed in southeastern Çukurca district

The Turkish military has killed 186 PKK terrorists in southeastern Çukurca district in anti-terror operations, military sources said on Thursday.

According to the sources, this week the military killed four PKK terrorists in Çukurca's Seni region on September 6, 14 terrorists on September 7, and 11 on September 8, totaling 29.

A total of 186 terrorists have been killed in total, the statement said and added that all fighter jets and armed drones conducting the operations have safely reached their bases.

The counter-terror operation was launched in rural areas of Çukurca in southeastern Hakkari province at the same time as the start of Operation Euphrates Shield, in which Turkey is backing the Free Syrian Army (FSA) against the Daesh terror group in northern Syria.

The PKK -- listed as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the U.S. and the EU -- resumed its 30-year armed campaign against the Turkish state in July 2015.

Since then, more than 600 security personnel, including troops, police officers, and village guards, have been martyred, and more than 7,700 PKK terrorists neutralized in operations across Turkey and northern Iraq.
