HDP's Tan: PKK and PYD's policies in Syria collapsed

Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) Deputy Altan Tan said the Syrian policies of the PKK terrorist organization and their Syrian extension, the Democratic Union Party (PYD) have collapsed.
"The PKK and PYD misread Syrian and Middle East politics and now their policies in Syria have collapsed," Altan Tan said to Rudaw. "They assumed that they will set up a Kurdish corridor up to Hatay or Lazkiye and the U.S. will support their goal until the end. However, they now realized that this is not the case," he added. Asserting that the PYD, PKK, HPD, Iraqi Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) and have to look at new situations and adjust their policies in Syria and Turkey accordingly Tan also said the continuation of armed actions will not bring peace.
"In Turkey armed conflicts must end and political struggle should come forward instead. This is the solution [to the Kurdish problem]," he added. "People who are living in dreams and in favor of continuing armed conflicts only cause more suffering both for the Kurdish and Turkish sides," he concluded.
