Two village guards were killed and one guard was injured in a PKK terror bombing in Turkey's southeastern Şırnak province on Saturday.

The guards were checking an area 200 meters away from the bridge which they were patrolling when the terrorists detonated the explosives.

A wide scaled operation was launched in the area to find and capture the terrorists who detonated the bomb.

Village guards act as local militias in towns and villages protecting against attacks and reprisals from the PKK terrorists.

The PKK, listed as a terrorist organization also by the U.S. and the EU, resumed its 30-year armed campaign against the Turkish state in July 2015.

Since then, over 600 security personnel, including troops, police officers and village guards have been and more than 7,000 PKK terrorists have been killed in operations across Turkey and northern Iraq.
