Turkey's broadcasting watchdog on Tuesday canceled the licenses of all radio and television stations determined to have links with the Gülenist Terror Organization (FETÖ), whose members are accused of staging the failed coup on July 15.

The Radio and Television Supreme Council (RTÜK) said in a statement on its website that it made the decision at an extraordinary meeting following the failed attempt to overthrow the democratically elected president and government.

The decision was made unanimously by the members of RTÜK's higher board, who are elected by Parliament in accordance with political parties' representation.

208 people, consisting of mostly civilians, have been killed by pro-coup soldiers, while over 1,400 people were injured. Turkey's opposition parties have united against the coup attempt, condemning it in the harshest terms and underscoring their determination to preserve democracy and rule of law in Turkey.

STV, Samanyolu Haber, Samanyolu Haber Radyo, Can Erzincan TV, Kanal 124, Yumurcak TV, Hira TV, MC TV, Dünya TV, Kanal Türk, Bugün TV, Mehtap TV, Berfin FM, Kanal Türk Radyo, Burç FM, Samanyolu Haber Radyosu, Radyo Mehtap, Haber Radyo Ege, Dünya Radyo, Radyo Küre, Merkür TV, Esra Radyo, Tuna Shoping TV, Samanyolu Haber Radyo Anadolu.

Most of these stations were already appointed with trustees and terminated their operations prior to the coup attempt.
