Turkish warplanes pounded 27 PKK terrorist positions in northern Iraq, the military said on Saturday.
During the operations, security forces targeted the PKK shelters in the Gara and Zap regions on Friday night, the military sources said in a statement.
The PKK -- listed as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the U.S. and EU -- resumed its 30-year armed campaign against the Turkish state in July 2015, after a short-lived cease-fire was halted.
Since then, nearly 600 security personnel have been killed. Meanwhile, more than 7,700 PKK terrorists have been killed by the security forces in the operations.
