Turkey captures 5 Daesh suspects on Syria border

Security forces captured five suspected Daesh terrorists, including one foreign national, during two separate operations in Turkey's southeastern Kilis province on Wednesday, the provincial governor's office said in a statement Thursday.

The Turkish military nabbed four suspects as they attempted to cross the Turkish-Syrian border, according to the statement that said a court detained four suspects with Turkish citizenship.

An investigation is ongoing into the foreign national, the statement added.

Also on Thursday, Istanbul and İzmir police conducted anti-terror operations following the terrorist attack on Atatürk Airport which took place on Tuesday, while security forces killed two suspected Daesh terrorists who were trying to illegally cross the border from Syria and ignored stop warnings.
