Six Turkish soldiers were killed in separate PKK terrorist attacks in two southeastern provinces, security sources said on Friday.
The sources, speaking to Anadolu Agency on condition of anonymity due to restrictions on talking to the media, said four soldiers were killed when PKK terrorists detonated explosives near Çimenli village in Hakkari province. An operation to find the terrorists is underway.
The regional governor's office announced on Friday that two soldiers were killed in a clash with PKK terrorists during an operation in the Derik district of Mardin.
The governor's office said counter-terrorism operations would continue "resolutely" to ensure the safety of citizens.
Terrorist in charge of PKK activities in Isparta arrested
Security forces arrested a PKK militant on Thursday in the western province of Isparta. The terrorist was reportedly in charge of the terrorist organization's activities in the province.
During a raid of a house in the Yedişehitler neighborhood, H.K. was captured with many documents related to the PKK. Following interrogation, he was charged with having links to terrorist organizations.
Beside the PKK's terror campaign in southeastern provinces, which is collapsing rapidly, the organization has attempted to spread their activities to western provinces.
