Turkish warplanes destroyed six targets belonging to the PKK terrorist organization in northern Iraq late Wednesday, security sources said.
According to the sources, who spoke on condition of anonymity due to restrictions on talking to the media, the Turkish military's jets attacked the at least six PKK targets in the Sinath and Haftanin regions.
Wednesday's air operation was conducted between 22.05 p.m. and 22.28 p.m. local time (2005-2028GMT) and at least six targets were destroyed, the sources added.
The PKK renewed its armed campaign against the Turkish state in July 2015 after a two-year-long ceasefire period. Since then, the military has been conducting airstrikes on PKK camps in in Northern Iraq to terminate the threat the militants pose to Turkey.
The PKK is listed as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the U.S. and the EU.
