President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's daily routine today consisted of accepting letters of credence from four ambassadors and a meeting with Turkey's top higher education official – nothing out of the ordinary and just like any other day in the president's life but he got a nice surprise when he accepted the newly-appointed envoy of Burkina Faso.
Ambassador Brahima Sere arrived Tuesday at the Beştepe Presidential Palace Complex in capital Ankara along with his family and other Burkinabe officials to present his letter of credence to the president and officially begin his duty in Turkey.
Erdoğan complimented Ambassador Sere and his wife Fanta Traore on the size of their family and showed close interest to their four children whom are 11, six, four and two years old, respectively.
The father of four and grandfather of seven, Erdoğan is known for his support and preference toward larger families and often voices his view that married couples should have at least three children.
Erdoğan also accepted letters of credence from Ambassador Bernard Avouma of Gabon, Ambassador Sanjay Bhattacharyya of India and Ambassador Kemal Köprülü of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) on Tuesday, meeting with their families and accompanying embassy officials
