Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu has announced Tuesday in Moscow that the street in Ankara where the Russian Embassy lies will be named after Andrey Karlov, Russia's ambassador to Turkey killed on Monday evening in a gun attack.
Çavuşoğlu and his Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov hold a joint press conference in Moscow, where both sides are meeting to discuss the Syrian crisis and the humanitarian situation in Aleppo.
''I condemn once again the terrorist attack on Andrey Karlov who was both a good diplomat carrying out his duty in the best way even in the most difficult conditions and a good person,'' said the Turkish FM who learnt about the attack when he was en route to Moscow, offering his condolences to Russia.
Çavuşoğlu reminded that Turkey and the Turkish nation are as sad as Russians following the murder of Karlov.
He also stressed that Russia traditionally sends its best diplomats to Turkey, proving the importance that Russia grants to its relations with Turkey.
''The purpose of this attack is to harm the warm relations developing between Turkey and Russia, both countries are aware of this reality and they repeatedly let this be known,'' added Çavuşoğlu.
Turkish foreign minister also stressed that Russian officials are participating to the ongoing probe over the attack.
Çavuşoğlu noted that cooperation between Turkey and Russia will continue in order to reach a political solution in Syria, and both countries are determined to boost bilateral relations in all fields.
Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said the corpse of Karlov, along with his family members, will be brought to Moscow.
Lavrov also highlighted that both countries will continue their war on terror with determination.
