Sabahattin Tuncer, the board chairman of Eyüp Sabri Tuncer, one of the leading cologne companies in Turkey, has passed away at the age of 93 on late Saturday.

Tuncer was hospitalized 10 days ago due to age-related health issues in Ankara and passed away at the hospital at which he was being treated.

Tuncer was born on October 29, 1923; the same day the Republic of Turkey was proclaimed.

The Eyüp Sabri Tuncer brand was established by Sabahattin Tuncer's father, who named the brand after himself.

Upon his father's insistence, Sabahattin Tuncer started managing the company in the 1960's, he told the Anadolu Agency in an interview in 2007.

The brand is widely known for its colognes and was the first to come up with citrus essence perfumed colognes in Turkey.
