Two identical twins will be married to another set of twins with both couples holding their wedding ceremony on the same day in southern Turkey. Selami and Resul Kızılay, 27, decided to go ahead with their wedding plans with twin sisters Hilal and Zeynep Karahan, 21 after spending most of their lives together.
The brothers, who both work as crane operators in Kahramanmaraş province, proposed to the Karahan sisters at the same time, to the surprise of the young women.
"We were surprised when both asked for our hand in marriage from our families. They won our approval for being twins," Hilal Karahan said.
Selami Kızılay told Anadolu Agency they attended the same school and served in the same unit during compulsory military service and the wedding was the latest occasion where their lives intertwined. Resul Kızılay said they share the same fate and do not plan to split. "We live in houses next to each other," he said.
