6 PKK terrorists killed in southeastern Turkey, northern Iraq air strikes

Turkish air strikes killed two PKK terrorists on September 13 in the southeastern town of Hakkari near the border with Iraq, the Turkish military said in a statement.

One arsenal, one dynamic target and a cave entrance were also destroyed in the air operation that was carried out between 8:26 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. local time (1730 and 1800GMT), the statement added.

A later statement also said that Turkish warplanes carried out an airstrike in the Avashin / Basyan region of northern Iraq and Çukurca in southeastern Hakkari province on Wedensday between 5:51 p.m. and - 6:10 p.m., hitting two PKK targets and killing four terrorists.

Turkish jets have been carrying out strikes on PKK positions in Turkey and northern Iraq since the group -- considered a terrorist organization by Turkey, the U.S. and the EU -- resumed its 30-year armed campaign in July last year.

Since then, more than 600 security personnel and many civilians, including women and children, and around 7,000 PKK terrorists have been killed.
