Turkish Airlines to increase Moscow-Antalya flights

As Ankara and Moscow take steps to thaw their strained relations, Turkey's national carrier, Turkish Airlines (THY), is expecting increased demand for flights from Russia. Turkish Airlines is receiving a flood of bookings from Russian tourists eager to return to the country, one of the most popular holiday destinations for Russians.Speaking to Gazetem, a Turkish-language Russian news portal, Mefail Deribaş, Russia manager of THY, said that they saw "a boom" in ticket sales after Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered the lifting of a ban on tour sales to Turkey. He said they decided to increase flights between Moscow and Antalya, the Mediterranean resort spot popular among Russians, to three per week from one. Deribaş said their sales increased due to uncertainty over the start of charter flights from Russia.Starting on July 13, THY will offer two additional flights weekly and two flights every day starting from July 18. In August, an extra flight will be available for Russian holidaymakers, thus, three flights in total every day.
