According to the statement, PKK terrorists stopped a bus traveling on Tunceli-Erzincan highway near Alacık Village area, to conduct an illegal identification check on a roadblock. The bus was carrying two soldiers, who were on their way to join their military unit after completing their training. The soldiers, reportedly from Osmaniye and Şanlıurfa provinces, were kidnapped by the PKK terrorists.
An operation has been launched in the area to rescue the kidnapped soldiers.
The PKK was formed in 1978 and has been fighting the Turkish government for an independent state until the early 2000's, then the group shifted its goal to autonomy in Kurdish inhabited regions of Turkey. The group is listed as terrorist organization by the UK, US, EU and Turkey.
