Turkey reaches out to families of deceased soldiers and police

Turkey moves to help the families of soldiers and police officers who are increasingly becoming victims of a brutal campaign of terror by the PKK. Operators of private schools all across the country are offering free education to the children of members of security forces who fell victim to attacks in Turkey's eastern and southeastern provinces.Meanwhile, the Family and Social Policies Ministry is providing therapy and financial assistance to the victims' relatives. The ministry ordered its staff in 81 provinces of the country to closely monitor the state of families of slain soldiers and police officers who are commonly referred to as "martyrs," and offer them psychological support.
