One soldier killed, 4 injured in PKK attack in southeastern Turkey


A Turkish soldier was killed and four others were injured in an attack carried out by PKK terrorists in the Lice district of Turkey's southeastern Diyarbakır province, Turkish General Staff announced Thursday.PKK members used rocket launchers and rifles in their violent attack on Turkish soldiers who were guarding an outpost and road construction crew and site near the Diyarbakır-Bingöl highway, the statement said.The injured soldiers were taken to Dicle State Hospital, and they are not in critical condition.An operation was launched to capture the terrorists.The PKK is listed as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the U.S. and the EU.
