With its rapidly growing health sector, Turkey attracts more than patients from the countries in the region and Europe. Hospitals in European countries including Romania, Poland and Ukraine turn to Turkey for advanced medical tests and lab analysis. Turkish companies coping with the high demand for analyses usually wrap up and send results of tests, ranging from labor health tests to tests required for diagnosis of children's diseases, within three days.
"Turkey achieved a great deal in terms of improvements in health tests. We are among the few countries successful in this field," Dr. İlker Kütükoğlu, director of Ankalab, a laboratory based in Turkey that currently processes tests on the health of workers in Romania, says. Kütükoğlu notes that many tests can only be conducted in one laboratory in Germany and his lab provides an alternative for Germany with lower waiting times for the results, as the German laboratory is overwhelmed with demands from all across Europe. He says Ankalab is capable of conducting nearly 1,000 tests and analyses, which require high technology.
