Three Turkish universities, Sabancı, Bilkent and Koç are included in the Times Higher Education (THE) 100 Under 50 rankings for 2015, which includes world's 100 best universities under 50 years old.
The weekly journal THE has published "THE 100 Under 50" for the fourth time.
Switzerland's École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne topped the list while Australia has overtaken the UK as the nation with the deepest reservoir of young talent.
The remainder of the top five in the THE 100 Under 50 2015 is static, with East Asian institutions continuing to dominate: the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST) holds on to third spot, Hong Kong University of Science and Technology retains fourth place, while Singapore's Nanyang Technological University remains in fifth.
Sabancı University ranks 13th, Bilkent University ranks 28th and Koç University ranks 51st among the world's 100 best universities.
Phil Baty, the editor of Times Higher Education Journal, made a statement about Turkey's place on the list.
"It is good news to see Turkey has improved its place on the list. These three universities are not only young but they are also special," he said.
