Der Spiegel reporter Andy Spyra was denied entrance to Turkey from Istanbul's Atatürk Airport and deported to Germany on March 28 due to his connections with the self-proclaimed Islamic State of Iraq and Sham (ISIS), according to German news magazine's report.
Spyra said that the Turkish authorities were not satisfied from explanations by him and the protest by German Embassy, despite the fact that he has entered Turkey on various previous occasions.
Upon his return to Düsseldorf, Spyra was also questioned by German Federal Police.
Spyra claimed that Turkish authorities may have denied his entrance as he wanted to report on the Armenian genocide allegations.
