Turkey's First Lady, Emine Erdoğan, known for spearheading campaigns mobilizing women for education and social services, is now leading an environmental campaign.
The Ministry of Forestry and Water Affairs is sponsoring the "Forests of Plenty" project under the leadership of Erdoğan.
Mrs. Erdoğan herself will plant the first tree in the capital, Ankara, tomorrow for the project that involves the planting of forests in all of the country's 81 provinces. In a statement related to the campaign, the ministry said the project aims to boost forestation and raising awareness among children and youth to preserve forests.
