Police officer arrested over boy's death in Turkey

A police officer was arrested Wednesday for alleged involvement in the death of a boy who was shot during clashes in Turkey's southeast province of Sirnak earlier in January.
The officer is from Mardin police force's special operations unit, but was temporarily stationed in the town of Cizre on the day of the incident.
According to police, 12-year-old Nihat Kazanhan died on Jan. 14 at Cizre State Hospital after being injured in the head.
Clashes had erupted between police and a group of masked men who organized an illegal demonstration and blocked a main street in Cizre.
