4.5 magnitude earthquake hits western Turkey


An earthquake measuring 4.5 on the Richter scale occurred in Turkey's western province of Sakarya on Wednesday, according to the Kandilli Observatory of the Bogazici University and the Earthquake Research Institute of Turkey.The earthquake occurred at 08:11 p.m. local time, no casualties or damages were reported as a result of the earthquake.Turkey is located in a seismically active area and earthquakes that lead to loss of human life frequently occur.
