ANKARA — At the AK Party group meeting on Tuesday, Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan pledged that administrative and judicial investigations will be conducted by government over Soma mine disaster.
"No one can cover himself from the responsibility, Government will closely follow the updates" Erdoğan said.
Erdoğan stated that the Government is closely engaged from day one of the mine disaster where 301 mine workers lost their lives.
Erdoğan said the state with all its institutions and facilities had arrived to the incident place on time. During his speech Erdoğan conveyed his thanks to Energy Minister Taner Yıldız who showed devoted efforts in Soma.
PM said that total of 2,743 staff worked to supply the needs in Soma.
Following the Soma disaster, in order to support victim families, Erdoğan issued an instruction to legally consider the victims who lost their lives in the mine disaster as civil martyr.
Erdoğan slammed the efforts to politicize the disaster through media.
"Opportunists inside the country tried to manipulate the news through international media. We can't welcome the opportunists.", said Erdoğan.
While the nation mourns, they try to cultivate ideological rant over tragedy.
