ISTANBUL — Claims that the Prime Minister had struck, Taner Kuruca, in an altercation in a grocery store during the Soma mine protests have been proven false. After Prime Minister Erdoğan visited the disaster area of the Soma coal mine, unexpected protests broke out and Erdoğan was quickly escorted to a nearby store in the midst of the protests.
The real reasons for the protests were made clear after Kuruca spoke out saying, "the prime minister didn't hit me, he actually protected me." Kuruca said, "the Prime Minister's security, while trying to protect Erdoğan bumped into me." A video was taken and aired on many different news stations all over the nation. Kuruca said he immediately contacted the news agencies and demanded that they take down the footage.
