A voice recording said to be of a telephone conversation between Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan and his son Bilal is at the centre of the latest scandal in Turkey.

The alleged recordings have been circulating social media, reaching more than 1.5 million hits on youtube by late tuesday.

Turkish PM has furiously condemned the audio as a fabricated recording that allegedly shows him talking to his son about hiding large sums of money.

In the conversation the pair allegedly discuss how to hide large sums of money on the day police raided houses as part of a corruption inquiry into Erdogan's government on December 17, 2013.

Mr. Erdogan had a late-night meeting with the head of intelligence and then spoke out publicly on Tuesday, telling MPs from his AK Party the recording was a "shameless montage" and an attack on him personally.
