Turkish government to pay “monthly salary” to the disabled and elderly
The Turkish government introduced a new legislation package for the disabled and elderly. The legislation package will see that 40 thousand Turkish citizens receive a “monthly salary”.
The Turkish government is ready to discuss the new legislation package, aimed to pay a "monthly salary" to 40 thousand disabled and elderly citizens.
The new legislation package includes paying net salaries to the disabled and elderly in social service institutes, private care houses and almshouses. The government aims to prevent the abuse of elderly and disabled people by care houses through new legislative measures. The package also includes a draft on the education of war veterans' children at private schools and the employment of children raised at orphanages. According to the legislation, private schools will allocate two thirds of their quota to orphans and war veteran's children.
Turkish citizens employed and receiving a regular salary will be excluded from the scope of the new legislation package.
