Accusing Israel of continuing to stage civilian massacres in the Middle East, Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan invited Israeli leaders to respect international law and to stop the civilian bloodshed. Addressing his party, Erdoğan stated, "I am now repeating my call to Israel to put an end to the inhumane attacks being staged against Gaza on Palestinian land." He went on to say that he was also calling on the Israeli public to say stop to this state terror. Erdoğan demanded the Israeli public exert pressure on their leaders responsible for these civilian massacres and say stop, rather than remain spectators to this persecution.
Sarkozy is a threat to EU values…
Erdoğan also had words for French President Nicolas Sarkozy during the weekly AK Party Group meeting. Erdoğan stated that following the French Constitutional Council's correction of a historical mistake, Sarkozy has begun to adopt an even more dangerous and openly aggressive stance. Sarkozy's utilization of his xenophobia as content for conducting domestic policy, coupled by the threatening statements he directs at foreigners living in his nation are extremely dangerous in terms of its targeting the EU's universal values and basic principles, states Erdoğan, who went on to invite Sarkozy to act in accordance to EU values.
