Kartalkaya's hotels, which stand at 2,200 elevation, have begun to mobilize for the winter season, especially since seeing 60 centimeters in recent snowfall. The final preparations are being made for the December 15th opening of the new season for the mega ski center. Snow is being compressed in order to ensure the runways are at maximum readiness and all chairlifts are being inspected for a final time.

As the New Year approaches, facility and hotel owners are all smiles due to the heavy snowfall. Once the season has begun, they say, their programs for New Year's Eve celebrations will allow them to recoup their losses from the summer months.
