Intense fog on the Dardanelles Strait has negatively affected transportation routes by sea.
Due to the lack of visibility from the fog, the Dardanelles Strait (Çanakkale Boğazı) has been closed to transportation in both directions. Car ferry service between Gelibolu and Lapseki has also been cancelled due to the weather conditions.
Access to the Dardanelles Strait is being provided by the Çanakkale-Eceabat car ferry transit route.
