Federer may say goodbye to Rotterdam after 2016 appearance


Roger Federer may have broached the delicate subject of his eventual retirement for the first time, revealing that February's participation in the AMB-AMRO event in Rotterdam may be his last ever in the Netherlands. While the 34-year-old world number three is still planning a full 2016 schedule highlighted by his fifth Olympic Games in Rio, the two-time Rotterdam champion confessed: "At this moment I have no plans to stop, and I hope to return after 2016 in Rotterdam. But certainly at my age may there may come a time when it's over." The winner of 87 career titles including the all-time record of 17 grand slam singles crowns added that he does not fear the day when he will have to finally hang up his racquet.
