Turkey eases past Russia to reach EuroVolley semifinals

Turkey made its way to the semifinals in the Women's European Volleyball Championship late on Friday.

Turkey beat Russia 3-0 in the quarterfinal match in Azerbaijan's capital Baku.

The "Sultans of the Net" won the first set with a score of 27-25, then the second set with 25-18, and the third 25-20.

This matchup was a remake of the their pool match with Russia, where they made amends for the 1-3 loss they suffered on their tournament debut.

The Turkish team will face Serbia in the semifinal game on Saturday.

The 2017 Women's European Volleyball Championship is co-hosted by Azerbaijan and Georgia and is due to continue through Sunday.
