Turkey advanced to the quarterfinals of the 2017 Women's European Volleyball Championship on Wednesday, after a win over Poland at the National Gymnastics Arena in Baku.
Turkey secured the last spot in the final eight after beating Poland 25-22, 27-25, 18-25, 25-23.
The match was a repeat of the final at the 2015 European Games in Baku, which Turkey also won.
Turkey will face reigning European champion Russia on Friday in the last eight.
Meanwhile Germany also grabbed a ticket to the quarterfinals after beating favorites Bulgaria 3-2. Germany is due to play against co-hosts Azerbaijan for a place in the last four.
The first round of the quarterfinals will be held Thursday.
Italy will square off with The Netherlands while Serbia faces Belarus.
The tournament, co-hosted by Azerbaijan and Georgia, will last 10 days with the winner taking the trophy home on October 1.
