The first day of competition at the Turkish Airlines 2014 golf tournament in Antalya ended on Thursday with Spaniard Miguel Angel Jimenez performing successfully at The Montgomerie Maxx Royal Hotel's golf course in the Belek region. Jimenez came out on top of the standings with a 9-under score. Ian Poulter from England followed Jimenez with 8-under. Tyrrell Hatton, Wade Ormsby, Brendon De Jonge completed the round with 7-under scores each. Jimenez's bunker shot that went straight into the cup during his round was warmly met by the crowd. Turkish golfer Ali Altıntaş was 7-over, Ediz Kemaloğlu completed the day with 9-over and Alihan Afsar collected 10-over.
