After entering a new era with the return of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan as party chairman, the ruling Justice and Development Party (AK Party) is set to hold an advisory meeting and an extended provincial chairpersons meeting shortly after the Islamic fasting month of Ramadan ends in June. The meetings with AK Party administrations are to set to determine the party's road map toward a new era. According to information obtained from sources close to the AK Party, the work and effort during the new stage are to be conducted within the framework of three fundamental criteria: justice, competency and consultation.
The newly elected chairman ensured that the party's extraordinary congress marked the birth of a new era for the AK Party. In his speech at the congress, Erdoğan underlined that the party is to undergo a reform process in the near future, as a transformation in the local AK Party administrations is also expected.
On that note, the meetings to be held at the end of June are also to address the ministries' 180-day road map. Sources have announced that the upcoming AK Party meetings are to be held either at Afyonkarahisar or Kızılcahamam, which will be the first meeting between the party's administration heads since 2014. Furthermore, the main item on the agenda is to be party's road map toward the 2019 elections.
Each ministry will also make a comprehensive presentation to the party administration laying out their 180-day plan, while the April 16 constitutional referendum results will also be discussed. Also, the three fundamental criteria, justice, competency and consultation, are to be applied to all AK Party administrations at the provincial and district levels. Those who are competent and know the region will be appointed in the party's organization. With the addition of the new names, the party's organizations will then enhance consultation mechanisms and reach out to the public. Finally, in the administration of municipalities and addressing the issues of citizens, the fundamentals of justice will be imposed.
