Chief of General Staff Gen. Hulusi Akar on Wednesday made an inspection visit to troops in Turkey's southeastern Diyarbakir province, a statement released by the Turkish Armed Forces said.According to the statement, Akar received information related to the ongoing operations against the PKK terrorists in the region from military and administrative officials.Diyarbakır's Sur district has been under curfew since Dec. 2, 2015 as security forces have been engaged in an all-out counter-terrorism operation in the region against the PKK.The PKK, considered a terrorist organization by Turkey, the U.S. and the EU, resumed its 30-year armed campaign against the country in late July 2015.
