Former Republican People's Party (CHP) deputy Süheyl Batum may return to his former party after a court decision overruled his dismissal on Thursday.
Ankara 24th Civil Court had decided that Batum's dismissal decision given by the party's High Disciplinary Committee is against the party regulations and and also CHP's parliamentary group regulations. The party administration is unable to object to the court ruling.
Batum was dismissed from the party as he was claimed to have said "We are trying to recover the party by shaking it up through resignations each week", urging the party administration to change its policies a day after Emine Ülker Tarhan's resignation. Tarhan, along with Batum, was another dissident from the party's neo nationalist circle.
Batum was reported to hold a press meeting at the Turkish Parliament on Monday regarding his roadmap.
